Michael Collins, Vice President of Research and Development

Michael Collins was appointed Vice President of Research and Development for Zimmer Dental in October, 2004. He joined Zimmer in 2000 as a Senior Project Engineer in the Hip Development group and was promoted to Principal Engineer in January of 2002. In 2003, Mr. Collins transitioned into the U.S. Hip Marketing Group where he served as Product Manager over the organization’s entire acetabular hip portfolio.
Prior to working at Zimmer, Mr. Collins served as Director of Engineering for Kinetikos Medical Inc., a small start-up bone orthopaedic company located in San Diego, CA.
Mr. Collins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, a Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Akron, and a Masters in Business Administration from Ball State University.
